Young Yarning was established in early 2023 as an independent youth focussed program and mentoring social enterprise, profit for purpose service. Built off the back of 7 years and ongoing study in psychology, counselling, narrative therapy and various other mental health related training as well as employment roles as a Social and Emotional Wellbeing Worker, Correctional Services and Firefighting.

Since establishing, we have delivered programs and services to youth all across the Northern Territory in various settings from schools, youth detention centres, community outreach, NDIS non-registered support, through community and grant funding and private 1 on 1 support.

In recent times we have branched out with our services and have developed and continue to work on programs and collaborate with other services in supporting our First Responders and families in the community. With a number of our mentors being current serving Firefighters in the community, we understand the importance of looking after those that protect our community in various ways.

Our programs and services have been developed primarily around a social and emotional wellbeing framework as well as using Narrative Therapy approaches, Trauma Informed approaches and with cultural safety and connectiveness at the forefront for our young First Nations people.
